Admin Console
Overview
The Admin Console is available to users with admin privileges on RobusTest. It provides tools for platform management, user oversight, device management, and usage monitoring.
Access: Click the Admin Console icon in the RobusTest navigation header.

Admin Console Sections
1. Activity
The Activity section tracks device group-related events across the platform:
- Device group creation
- Changes to groups — adding or removing devices and projects
- Device group deletion
This provides an audit trail for administrators to understand what changed, who changed it, and when.
2. Projects
The Projects section lists all projects on the platform. For each project, you can see:
- Project name, type, and status (active/inactive)
- Creation date and last activity
- Team size
Selecting a project gives access to the following tabs:
Sessions — View all test sessions for the project, including session type (manual, automation, run, hub), device used, user who started the session, start/end times, duration, status, and termination reason.
Usage — See a breakdown of total testing time by session type (manual, automation, run, hub).
Builds — View all builds uploaded to the project with version, upload date, and build size.
Members — Manage team members and their roles. Add or remove members and grant or revoke admin privileges.
Devices — View devices reserved for the project.
Settings — Activate, deactivate, or delete the project. Configure project-wide access settings.
3. Users
The Users section lists all active and inactive users on RobusTest.
Selecting a user shows:
- Sessions — The last 100 test sessions started by that user.
- Usage — Breakdown of total time spent per session type.
- Projects — All projects the user belongs to.
- Settings — Activate or deactivate the user, and grant or revoke admin privileges.
4. Device Models
The Device Models section lists all device models registered on RobusTest. A device model is a combination of model name and OS version (e.g., Samsung Galaxy S7 - Android 8.0).
Selecting a model shows:
- Devices — All devices of that model currently on the platform.
- Settings — Configure model details (name, brand, manufacturer, CPU, RAM, screen size, resolution), enable the on-screen navigation bar, and enable or disable automation support for all devices of this model.
Note: If automation support is not enabled for a model, all devices in that model will only be available for manual testing.
5. Devices
The Devices section lists all devices on the platform. Each device shows its current state:
- Green — Connected and available
- Red — Currently in use
- Grey — Disconnected
- Blue — Being added or initialised (first connection, restart, or server restart)
Selecting a device shows:
- Device name, OS version, model, device ID, ADB ID, IMEI number, node name and IP, last used timestamp.
Tabs available per device:
- Sessions — Last 100 test sessions on this device.
- Usage — Breakdown of time spent per session type.
- Apps — List of apps pre-installed on the device.
- History — Connection and disconnection events with timestamps and reasons.
- Contact — Add contacts who will be notified by email when this device disconnects. Contacts must first be created in the Contacts section.
- Shell — Run ADB commands on the device directly from the console.
- Settings — Set device name, mobile number, tags, device group assignments, and notification preferences.
Actions available from the device view:
- Free Device — Releases the device from its current test session (visible only when the device is in use).
- Restart Device — Remotely restarts the connected device.
- Flash Screen — Briefly flashes a red screen on the device to help physically identify it when multiple devices of the same model are present.
6. Emulators
The Emulators section provides management and configuration capabilities for Android and iOS emulators/simulators in your RobusTest environment.
Key features include creating new Android emulators and iOS simulators, configuring device profiles (screen size, resolution, RAM), managing emulator snapshots for consistent testing states, and monitoring emulator availability and performance.
7. Browsers
The Browsers section manages web browser configurations for web application testing within the RobusTest platform.
You can manage available browser versions (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, and mobile browsers), configure browser-specific settings such as user agent strings and viewport sizes, and maintain multiple browser versions for compatibility testing.
8. Device Groups
A device group binds one or more devices to one or more projects. Devices in a group are only accessible to members of the projects in the same group.
Use device groups when multiple teams share the same device cloud and each team needs exclusive access to their own set of devices.
9. Session
Displays the last 100 test sessions created by all users on the platform, along with a live count of sessions currently in progress.
10. Device Nodes
The Device Nodes section lists all nodes (RobusTest servers) that form the device cloud. Each node hosts one or more physical devices.
Selecting a node shows:
- Node name, IP address, last updated timestamp, and license expiry date.
Tabs available per node:
- Devices — All devices connected to this node.
- History — Connection and disconnection events for the node.
- Snapshot — Captures the list of connected devices at a point in time. Use this to compare against current state and identify devices that are no longer connected.
- Contact — Add contacts who will be notified by email when this node goes offline.
- Settings — Update node name, location, MAC address, and machine serial.
Actions available from the node view:
- Flash Screen — Flashes a red screen on all Android devices connected to the node, useful for locating devices in a rack.
- Create Snapshot — Captures the current list of connected devices for future comparison.
- Delete Node — Removes a node entry that is no longer valid.
11. Test Nodes
The Test Nodes section manages computational nodes dedicated to running automated tests. You can view node details (name, IP, last updated timestamp, license expiry), history, and remove nodes that are no longer active. Actions available include Flash Screen (to identify devices on that node), Create Snapshot, and Delete Node.
12. Default Run Settings
Configure default run settings that apply to new test sessions and automation runs across the platform. Settings you can configure include session timeouts, recording preferences, and performance data collection.
13. Maintenance
The Maintenance section allows you to create and manage scheduled maintenance tasks on the platform. Each maintenance entry can be run on demand or triggered via the API.
14. Integrations
Configure integrations with external tools such as bug trackers. To set up an integration:
- Click Create New Integration.
- Select the tool from the dropdown (e.g., JIRA).
- Fill in the required fields (e.g., JIRA server URL, username, API token).
- Click Create Configuration.
Once created, go to the Settings tab of your project dashboard and select the integration configuration in the Bug Tracker dropdown.
Note: If the tool you need is not listed, contact support@robustest.com.
15. DB Maintenance
Provides tools to configure and run database cleanup operations, including removing obsolete test data based on retention policies.
16. Storage
Manage storage engine configurations for test artifacts such as screenshots, videos, logs, and application builds.
17. Deployment Info
Provides information about the current RobusTest deployment configuration, including platform version, service status, license details, and system resource information.
18. Administration
Provides high-level administrative controls and platform-wide configuration options, including feature toggles, resource limits, notification settings, and compliance configuration.
19. iOS Models
Manage the catalog of supported iOS device models and their configurations. Administrators can add, update, or import iOS model definitions from a file.
20. Contacts
Create and manage contacts who should be notified by email when a device or node disconnects. Once contacts are created here, they can be assigned to specific devices or nodes.
21. Settings
Configure global platform parameters including mail server settings, notification rules, server configuration, and storage backends.
