Adding webOS Devices to RobusTest
LG webOS TVs connect to RobusTest over the network using LG's webOS pairing protocol. The TV must be on the same network as the RobusTest node.
Prerequisites
Enable Developer Mode on your LG webOS TV by following LG's official developer setup guide: https://webostv.developer.lge.com/develop/getting-started/device-setup
Note the TV's IP address, and keep the Developer Mode app open on the TV — you'll need to read a pairing passphrase from it during setup.
Adding the Device
- In the RobusTest Admin Console, go to Devices.
- Click the + icon at the top of the page.
- In the pop-up, select webOS as the device type.
- Enter:
- Device IP — the webOS TV's IP address
- Node IP — the IP address of the RobusTest node the TV is connected to
- Device Name — a name to identify the TV in RobusTest
- Pass phrase — the pairing code/passphrase shown on the TV's Developer Mode app
- Click Add Device.
RobusTest pairs with the TV using the passphrase provided. The device will appear in your device list once pairing succeeds.
Device added! Your webOS device is now ready for automation testing in RobusTest.
Note: If pairing fails, confirm the passphrase hasn't expired on the TV (LG regenerates it periodically), that the TV and the RobusTest node are on the same network, and that Developer Mode is still active.
